Mastering Motivations
How to Recognize and
Meet Others Where They Are
Motives reflect our intent. By reading the Motives of others, we can identify whether or not we are in alignment with their actions. Each Motive reflects an underlying belief or pattern of activity that we perform to get the agreement or support of others. When we are not conscious of our Motives, we try to focus on goals to direct us to particular results. However, we may create adverse outcomes due to mixed or lower Motives, keeping us from embodying our Purpose. The level of Self-Denial defines the level of Motive. Instinctive Motives, such as Lust, Greed and Arrogance, reflect the most creative Self-denial. There is a hierarchy of 4 levels of Motives: Instinctive, Intellectual, Idealizing, and finally Intuitive. Conscious individuals operate primarily from Intuitive Motives.
This course will awaken us to how Creative Self-denial becomes an obstacle to our expression in life. The more we are disconnected from our authentic Self, the more we will see our self act with mixed or lower motives. Without the alignment of others, this Self-denial becomes a mutual denial, guaranteeing that we will not accomplish our intentions. For every motive response or reaction, we have the opportunity to embrace others and their Motive or be repulsed by it. Honoring others, however they are expressing their motives is the first step to conscious creative connections with others. Unless we are able to accept and love others as they are there is little possibility of mutual growth and development. Our ability to support others is limited by our self-judgments, which produce our repulsions. Recognizing and acknowledging our own motives (however compromised they are) provides the key to creating harmony with others. As we Co-Create with common Intuitive Motives, synergy leads to greater productivity and more aligned manifestations. Learning to meet each other in higher motives opens up a whole new world of opportunities.
The quality and depth of our connections also increase as we use higher motives to connect. Our ability to receive and give increases exponentially as higher motives provide the natural trust and unity we need to serve most effectively, Through the embodiment of Intuitive Motives, we are able to invite others to authentically contribute. In this way, we support our own evolution by providing opportunities for others to be more holistic and inclusive by uplifting their Motives. Knowing our partners involves seeing their range of Motives and to what degree they can align with us. Higher Alignment in Motives requires that our intentions not only serve us, but also allow us the gift to focus on others outside of the partnership. This course will involve recognizing our favorite motive frameworks, that for most of us, means discovering how we sabotage our own growth. The course also invites us to become more clear and clean with our invitations to others, so that we can manifest higher, more conscious possibilities.
In this course we will learn how to become conscious of Motives so that we can honor and meet others where they are, without denying our own creative nature. We will define and clarify the 12 possible motives and explain how these Motives represent a level of conscious attainment within our Self. Each night, we will cover a different motive, and through pictures of celebrities, identify how we can see this Motive in play. We will also practice recognizing each night’s Motive within ourselves, as well as neutralizing any use of this Motive against us. Seducers use lower motives to sow self-doubt, pandering to our dis-possessed or denied desires/sensations as a way to increase their influence. When we become clear about how motives can be mis-used to control us, we are no longer are able to be seduced or tempted. This course will clarify these “denial of power” issues.
Since Motives in most individuals are temporary and transitory in nature, they can shift quickly. This means that we have to be alert, present and vigilant to recognize them. While most people have certain set points that reflect our habitual ways of operating, we want to learn to stretch our self to be more inclusive, transparent and open in our use of Motives. We also want to eliminate any of our preset patterns where we deny our creative power. The higher our Motives, the more present we are and the more present we can be with others. We will also discover that we typically respond to others with polar opposite Motives. In this way, our masculine or feminine motives are neutralized by our partner’s masculine or feminine motives, reducing our effectiveness as a partnership. By becoming more conscious of Motives, we will learn how to blend masculine and feminine energies to go beyond our Gender Identity perceptions.
Those of us on the Path of Autonomy will be able to recognize and intuitively know the Motive frameworks of others. Typically they call this motive alignment experience a “gut” check, where they know the likely outcome. This course will provide the terms that describe their inner perceptions. For others not on this path, this course will be a Wisdom development process, where we learn to reinterpret and “re-source” our intent based on quick feedback. We will learn to tune into the energies behind Motives, and instantly know how to address them when they are come into play.
Motive frameworks also mirror our Relationship Skills and Compatibility Factors. This means that understanding Motives can help us become much more conscious about how competing Relationship Skills or Compatibility Differences can be neutralized by balancing and unifying motives. We will also discover how certain motives twist our perceptions about the creative nature of others based on our past experiences. Join us in exploring the world of motivations, so we will become more conscious Co-Creators with our partners.
